A New Start

I have been on the mend for a few weeks it seems with less than a good month for the month of April.  This is something that I need to change as of today I think.  I keep seeing my running family doing all these wonderful things and I have been slacking for a while and then being sick didn't help me to get to where I wanted to be.  However, I am in need of a new challenge for myself. I am going to get back to running in the mornings and then I think I will be doing walks with the dog in the evenings.  She needs to get out more and I can't say no to a nice walk.  One lap around our neighborhood is about .8 miles.  I can do two laps at night to get the wiggles out of her.

I had a rough April.  I did a race in the valley on April 7th.  It wasn't pretty, but, I donated my shoes to a running store.  Bought new shoes, and thought this was going to be the bees knees, the cat's pajamas.  They were not.  I had to wait a full week to get new shoes, and then I was able to get a run or two or three in and I got sick.  I was able to get over that, and then, I had a tooth pulled.  Today I had wanted to go for a full loop around the lake, but, I could only pull off about 3.5 miles due to the throbbing pain in my face.  It's not so bad now, just have to ease back into it I think.  Maybe more walks would be a good thing.

I have also been doing some cardio workouts as of late as well.  I was starting to see a difference in my body in just a week's time.  I will need to be doing that as well.... I have my 20 year high school reunion this year in September and I will want to be looking a bit better than I do today...

With that said, the run was lovely.  The morning was cool and I was properly dressed and felt so good.  I loved my run, the sunrise was also something that I had missed seeing.  Until tomorrow friends, Run Happy... 😊
