100 Workouts This Year

You guessed it.. I have officially put in 100 workouts this year.  I am feeling pretty good about it today.  As such, it was suggested that we do a running streak from today until July 4th.  I can do that!  I was able to do a good streak last year which I think would be great for a summer goal.  See how far I can go.  I must log at least two miles for it so that's about two laps around the neighborhood.  I can do that.  Will add a lot of miles to my month and maybe I will be hitting those 100 miles a month again.  That's really cool to do.  I have been slacking for the last two months due to various reasons.  Now, I'm ready to get it going.  I like being outside and I find the thrill of the run something that I really hate to live without.  Now, I will have to add some stretching into this because it feels good.  And I am thinking some good meditation will have to come into play for this too. I feel like I have lost...

5 Mile Friday turned 5K Friday

Mending from a tooth being pulled takes a lot longer than what one would hope, think, expect.  I am two weeks post removal and my face throbs like crazy while running.  Not painful, just throbbing and sometimes a bit annoying more than anything.  It was a lovely morning.  The sun was not up and the breeze was still a breeze and not full blown gusting wind, which is what is predicted for today. I was 5 km from hitting my half way point for this years UA challenge.  Which means I am way far behind where I thought I would be by now.  April totally kicked my ass this year.  Had to walk a bit and my splits are looking like a year ago, but, mending is a slow process. I have found the yoga that I will be doing with my runn...

A New Start

I have been on the mend for a few weeks it seems with less than a good month for the month of April.  This is something that I need to change as of today I think.  I keep seeing my running family doing all these wonderful things and I have been slacking for a while and then being sick didn't help me to get to where I wanted to be.  However, I am in need of a new challenge for myself. I am going to get back to running in the mornings and then I think I will be doing walks with the dog in the evenings.  She needs to get out more and I can't say no to a nice walk.  One lap around our neighborhood is about .8 miles.  I can do two laps at night to get the wiggles out of her. I had a rough April.  I did a race in the valley on April 7th.  It wasn't pretty, but, I donated my shoes to a running store.  Bought new shoes, and thought this was going to be the bees knees, the cat's pajamas.  They were not.  I had to wait a full week to get ...
