The trunk of the car next door

This morning, I had woken up with my alarm clock, ready for the day.  Well, not ready for it actually.  More like I was laying in bed wondering how long I could prolong the inevitable fact that I would have to get up and go run if I was to run today at all.  Which is good because it rain like the dickens all afternoon.

Thinking that I was only going to go for a short run, I managed to haul myself out of my bed and begin the ritual of getting ready to do anything in my life.  When I run, I have to get dressed first and then put my contacts in and then brush my teeth, braid my hair and go... obviously I have to pee first thing.  I am not sure why it takes me about 25 minutes to get this part of the morning down, but, it's a normal thing for me.  I dressed in capris and a shirt, my favorite one, Brazil soccer shirt. Love that one.  Today, because it was early, I even took the dog with me.  She was so happy about that.  I was happy to have her with me.

I wanted to try a timed run today, so when I hit my 15 minutes one way, I knew I had to turn around.  My 15 minute mark was around the 1.15 mile marker.  Not a super fast pace or anything like that.  The air was so thick this morning, I didn't realize that I should have had water until we were already half way done.  I notice that I have picked up my pace a bit by now, and we are cruising right along.  It is so hot outside! I can't even begin to describe how hot and muggy it is.  We near the end of the run and I am sweating buckets, and I realize that I don't have a lot of time to get ready for work due to the lack of getting out of bed in a timely manner.  Oh well.

Get home and I am excited to realize two things.  First, that my timed run was cool.  I went out and ran for 15 minutes.  Got back to the house, the run was a total of 28 minutes.  Second, I had a negative split for the first time that I have been trying to do.  I was pretty happy about that.  It was a good run today.  I don't know what tomorrow will bring.  Have been thinking about readjusting my 200 days of running, I think rest days should be incorporated with walking days so I don't lose the momentum, but also so I keep moving.  We shall see for sure.

Until then, Happy Running All~
Pictures aren't loading tonight.. maybe tomorrow I can get them on here... Night all
