5 Mile Friday turned 5K Friday

Mending from a tooth being pulled takes a lot longer than what one would hope, think, expect.  I am two weeks post removal and my face throbs like crazy while running.  Not painful, just throbbing and sometimes a bit annoying more than anything.  It was a lovely morning.  The sun was not up and the breeze was still a breeze and not full blown gusting wind, which is what is predicted for today.

I started out thinking I would do a timed run and just do like 40 minutes.  Would get me home with some time to spare so I could pack for my trip to Phoenix for class this weekend.  Instead, I wanted to do at least a 5K... I was 5 km from hitting my half way point for this years UA challenge.  Which means I am way far behind where I thought I would be by now.  April totally kicked my ass this year.  Had to walk a bit and my splits are looking like a year ago, but, mending is a slow process.

I have found the yoga that I will be doing with my running to help me increase flexibility and hopefully help me when I am able to get to the point to teach yoga.  It is part of the life goal I have for myself.  I like to think that one day, I will be able to do about 4 massages a day, and teach two yoga classes a day. And run daily without pain.  And to do all of this by the ocean.  One day, I will get there.  Until then, I will be here, working on making it happen.

It was a slow run today, I think I averaged a 14+ minute mile.  Slow, but, that's ok.  Healing takes time and I will get there.  And it's ok.  Time to get moving.. Packing doesn't get done on it's own and I need to get much done before I leave the house this morning.  Overall, good start to a good day.  Have a great day running family 😊
