100 Days Into This

I knew that writing daily was going to be the hardest part of this for me.  Once again, I have found myself in a dilemma with regards to writing... Mostly, that I haven't been doing it as much as I had set out to do.  I feel like I have taken a lot on and it could be cause for some stress in my life.  With that being said, running has not fallen by the way side in any way.  I have enjoyed it a great deal and have actually reached some milestones of the personal kind since my last entry. It has been just over a month since I was writing on a daily basis.  I have started running in the mornings with a friend named Hanna. I am very grateful for someone who wants to go run first thing in the morning and wants to do it on a regular basis.  It is keeping me going knowing that someone else is looking to me for guidance.  I want to be good for them, but it has a way of keeping myself accountable to myself as well.  I like being better than what I was yesterday, at least, I hope that I can.

My first hurdle was that I have been able to finish the MapMyRun Challenge You Vs. The Year.  I won and beat the year!  I didn't even come close to finishing it last year, as I had only made it to 689 km.  I have gone past that now.  It is an amazing feeling knowing that I can accomplish this kind of goal.  I was so excited to get this done, but not just done, I feel like I owned it.  Made me very proud of myself. Sadly, haven't run in two days now since getting it.. Not because of anything bad, just my legs needed the rest on Friday and this morning, it was pouring outside.  Not going to happen.  I am hoping that the sunshine that I see out my window right now will keep the rain at bay tomorrow morning.  And the wind dries out the forest floor so I can do a trial run first thing tomorrow after light.

What kind of other things have happened: I singed up for my next race, or rather event.  I am signed up for the Rock n Roll Half again this coming year.  I wanted to do my entry for the 5k, but, I saw the total price and decided to split that payment up so the half for now, and then in a few weeks, do the 5k with me and the little one.  And then the rest of the costs for the race.  With my birthday coming up, a great gift idea is new running shoes.. For those who wish to send me money for my birthday, of course.

For me, this running daily has helped me feel better about everything in life.  Not that there aren't shitty things that happen, but I feel so good when I run that day.  And I love the company, but, I also love the solitude that comes with the event.  I like when I have my iPod shuffle on because there is so much more music on that, than on my phone.  Oh well.

For my last run, I decided that we would met in our normal spot and then do my loop around the lake that I love to do.  I was able to add that extra milage that I need to make it 5 miles for the run and to me that is a marvelous morning run.  There is chill in the air as of this past weekend that precludes the change in the season, which is just about on point, since the fall equinox was two days ago.  We ran a bit more and I will be making sure that we continue to run more due to the deceased temperatures.  I am just looking forward to my fleece lined running leggings.. Who would have ever thunk that one, I like those to run in the cold weather in.  So comfy cozy!! I hope I can find more for the cold weather.  The sun coming up was a beautiful thing to behold.  We were finally able to see that around miles 2.5 to 3.  I stopped for water twice, and I love to take advantage of that, I need the water so I can sweat so I can cool myself down.  Plus I like the feeling of being all sweaty in the winter time.  I feel as if I have earned it.  I worked hard for it.  So I must work hard for it.

It ended and I kept running most of the way home.  I feel good when I move.  I am pretty excited to say that I have found a love for a sport.  Yay!! 🏃
Have a great day run family, I shall tell you more again tomorrow.  Until then, 100 days left to kill it... Keep killing it!
