Monday and Tuesday, Because I can
I have to start with yesterday. So, recently, my daughter who is 10, my parents and myself all signed up for a 5k. This is going to be held this coming Saturday morning. I am very excited about it and I cannot wait for my little goose to participate in something like this. To help her get ready for this, she will be walking with my mom, we walked at a good pace yesterday for our walk.
It was a simple down and back to my mile and a half marker. We had a good time. It was nice to talk to her about how her summer vacation went. I found out some things that made me sad to think she had to deal with. However, it's over and now, she can focus on other things like races and soccer and school. I am hopeful that this year in school will be great for her.
I know, a bit much with the photos, but that's all good.
For my run this morning, I was surprised to find that I wanted to get out of bed and go. I want to start the month off right with some good miles. I got up and got ready, got the dog ready and off we went. I had set out to do a timed run. I had meant to leave earlier than I did, so I could do a 30 minute timed run. However, I made due as best as I could. Since I knew how far my thirty minutes should go, I just ran to that one mile spot and turned around.
Since I had stretched, I thought for sure I would be ok with just wearing regular socks. I think this was a bad decision. About a little before half way, I started to notice my shins were having some issues. And by some I mean a lot. Like I had to walk more of this than I wanted to. I ended up doing alright but once again, I am upset with these stupid shins. I have read that it has something to do with the gastronomic nemesis being overworked while the other muscles on the inside of my shins are not keeping up with the other part of it. Or it's too much heel strike. Either way, I will work on form and see if that helps tomorrow. I am thinking it will be hard to get out of bed, but I will try.
Saw a few pretties today, met a new little friend. A house that sold on my route has a new owner, which means that there is now a new puppy there as well. A cute little Basset Hound. I just say Hello Friend when we go by. How I wanted to stop and pick this cute little guy up and hold him and play with him. But alas, I did not.
We made it home in 32 minutes, and I had forgotten my Garmin on the charger today, so it was just MMR. I am glad for the time that I go run. Makes me feel like I can do nearly anything. Which I would like to be able to do everything.
Until Tomorrow, Good Night All.
Happy Running~
