Short, but done
This morning I was afforded the luxury of being able to sleep in. And then, I got to go out and get some groceries with my love and take in a movie with him and come home and hang out with a girlfriend for a few hours with my love slept. It has been a glorious day for sure.
When the time came to go for my run, I was thinking about skipping it. I mean, it's not like anyone would know, but, I would know. And that to me is a huge wrong doing on my part. I cannot be that person. I can no longer lie to myself about my health and fitness habits. So, I laced up and went for a night time run.
Here I was, wearing my long yoga pants that I have rocked all day long, and a long sleeve shirt. Both are equally comfortable in their own rights, but, today, on this hot Arizona night, it was a bit much. I had originally thought about just going for a walk with the dog. She needs it a lot. It helps to get rid of some of that energy that huskies seem to have. We started out on our walk with it being night time. I have to admit, I loved running in the early morning before the sun came up. I actually miss it being super cold for me to run in. It was a workout to get nice and sweaty when it's only 12 F outside. I love that, and I don't understand why. It's pretty cold like that. The stars were out and though the moon isn't full yet, it was wonderful to see it hanging in the sky again. We used to love running in the morning when the full moon was still out. It is magical I am sure of that!!
I didn't run a lot, in fact, I was surprised that I wanted to run even though I had said to myself it was ok to walk this one... it wasn't like that at all in my head. There was no music to hear in my ears this evening, just the sound of my shoes hitting the road. That steady cadence of my own soul coming out. I could hear the parties of those celebrating the anniversary of the birth of our Country. I am big supporter and fan of our country, even though I currently am at odds with the administration and policies of the White House. There seems to be a constant bombardment of almost too stupid and crazy to be true stories out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave these days. However, for more talk about that, check my political blog.. The Galactic Liberal Media.
I wore my don't hit lights tonight. I was coming back into the apartments and I was complimented by a young lady. Made me smile. They are clip ons to the back of my shoes. Not much else to say about my short run, except for maybe I will wait to run until tomorrow night as well, but, maybe not. Morning could be a much better time while there are so many out of town visitors. Who knows...
Happy Running All~
