Back to the trail
Today was a glorious run that I am so happy about. Not so much the milage, but, being out in the forest was so wonderful this morning. I had wanted to get out around 6-6.30, but ended up an hour later due to me forgetting to plug in my phone. In fact, it was pretty close to 8 when I got out there.
This morning was a beautiful morning. The sun was up but not too hot at this point, and when you have a very hairy dog, less hot is a good thing. We got about .10 miles into it and I realized that her water bowl was still in the truck. There was no way I could go on this run with out it, so back to the truck we went to get her bowl. When we drove in, there were a lot of cows in the area doing their free range thing, eating breakfast I imagine.
I got to about a mile into the run and I was again met with the thinning of the forest. It saddens me to see this deforestation yet, I know why it must happen. I live in Arizona. For the majority of the summer season, the state is usually on fire. So to help prevent some of the devastating loss we seem to have with the fires, forests are thinned. But I loved those trees. Anyhow, the trail was easy enough to follow this time around. I had wanted to go the opposite way of the last time I did this trail, but, there was a cow in the way when the trail split off into two trails. I was loving this run today. If I felt like walking, I did. I didn't feel upset about it either.
We only did 2 miles in and then back for a total of 4 miles today. Why? Well, I had an appointment and I wanted to get home and see my husband. Since he works nights, it's got us all weird on our schedules. The trail coming back had a beautiful view of where I live. I guess I had missed it the first time around since I was looking down and trying not to die with the dog attached to my waist, trying to visit with the cows.
I was glad that I had my water bag with me vs. having the belt. I can carry more water, but then I also have my little fanny pack that works well for me to keep my phone close as well as other needed items. Just in case of course. The morning ended and I was glad to get out today. Made me feel so good to be outside in the sunlight. Tomorrow I will try to get out there earlier than today, but, there is no guarantee for that one. Until then,
Happy Running All~
