This morning, I was so hoping for a wonderful run. That was not the case for me today. I felt heavy and slow and not into the run at all. However, since I committed to doing this challenge, I am going to take it very seriously. I have not been good at completing anything I have set out to do in the realms of taking care of my body. I have set many goals and have yet to reach them. I don't want to fail at this one.
So, out I went. I had the intention of doing my full loop so today, since I knew it wasn't going to be the best run, I set out with the goal for this run, how long does it take on a bad day? The answer was more than an hour. I hate that I was feeling like this. The hard work to that I had done only to finish with an unsatisfied feeling of knowing that I could have done better.

| Smoke on the horizon |
To start with, there was a lot of smoke in air. In the first photo that I snapped, you can see a line across the mountain tops where the smoke is settling in. It smelled like a campfire and that made me smile for sure. I didn't want to stop at my usual spot, so we went to our 2 mile mark for a stop. We were greeted by four horses who were most eager to meet with the dog. The dog was all smiles from ear to ear, she was so happy to meet these big dogs.

| Hello Friends |
We kept going, and the next time we stopped, we had a good drink of water. I have been giving most of mine to the dog because she has a lot more fur than I do, and I wanted to keep her cool. After all, it is very warm these days in Arizona. I press on, not sure which part is hurting the most right now. But, it's all good. I keep thinking that I need to do this route a lot more. It's been such a long time since I did this one a lot. Maybe for the month of July I will consider putting it out like that daily to see how it goes.
Upon nearing our forth mile, we stop once more for some water, this time, she doesn't want hardy any of it. Fine, so I pour it over her head. This is something that the dog hates for me to do, but I still try. She has been able to jump out of my way when I motion to do so. She wanted to hit the trail today during our run. I had other plans. I wanted to get home so I could be with my love, so, we continued on our journey.
Things I noticed today. The dog pulls really hard on my back. I would almost rather not run with her because of how much it can hurt. She also pulls hard while running downhill. I can't abide this kind of behavior. I have no desire to fall due to someone pulling me at a difficult pace for me to keep up with. And it's not so much the pace, it's that I can't go at my own pace to run down the hills that bothers me. I love the music that I listen to while running. I love to smile while running. I love being outside. I am so grateful for the time that I have to run daily. It makes me happy...
So, until tomorrow, Happy Running~
